Story

Martin is divorced, out-of-shape and out of friends. When his son Liam comes to stay for the first weekend since the break-up Martin is desperate to reconnect. But Liam is more interested in his hero - Martial Artist Legend: Bruce Lee. With their relationship on the line Martin is running out of ideas. What if he could convince Liam that he is the reincarnation of Bruce Lee?

Following a rigorous assessment process of over 300 applications, Bruce was one of 15 films selected to go through into the latest Creative England’s iShorts scheme, delivered as part of the BFI NET.WORK.

 

As well as the funds received from Creative England the filmmakers raised additional budget through a Crowdfunder and Social Media Campaign.

Adam etheridge - director

After studying Drama at Bristol University, he set up a production company in Bristol: Aspect Film and Video. Adam has directed TV commercials and online content for brands such as Samsung, Coca-Cola, North Face, Nationwide. Adam’s passion is for combining delicate and authentic performances, with bold cinematic and visual storytelling. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

david watson - screenwriter

David also graduated from Bristol University studying Drama – where he wrote and performed sketch comedy for theatre and radio. For the past 9 years he has been Creative Director at Aspect Film and Video & an award winning viral agency Rebel Virals– producing branded content for North Face, NSPCC, Samsung, Microsoft, Coca Cola. He has conceived and written online content that has well over 10 million views of earned media. 

 

 

 

 

 

amanda mesaikos - producer

Amanda got her professional creative start in theatre, writing and directing short plays before moving into filmmaking. Before leaving New York, Amanda worked on various documentaries and since moving to London she has been producing commercials, short films and music promos for clients including: Google, myAccomplice, Malibu Rum, Marks and Spencer, British Airways and YouTube.

 

 

 

 

 

Scott Sandford - dop

Scott started as a runner and working up the the camera assisting route in Toronto, Canada before becoming a photographer in London. Despite a passion for photography it didn’t have the same buzz Scott felt from being on set and telling stories. After making that decision to go back into cinematography, he has worked extensively as a DOP in film, Television and Commercials.

  • 31t October 2016 - We're excited to announce that Bruce will debut at the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival 3-6 November in York. We're very excited to be screening as part of Creative England's iShorts Showcase on Saturday. More updates to come from Festival itself on FB and Twitter!
